Board approves volunteer coaches and drivers; one abstention on driver approvals

The Duncan Unified District Governing Board approved volunteer coaches and volunteer drivers/chaperones at its Aug. 11 meeting.
President Mike Sweetser moved to approve Chano Talavera (volunteer Jr. High football) and Greg Galvin (volunteer High School football) as volunteer coaches; Member Bruce Lunt seconded and the motion carried as Motion No.21 (25-26).
On volunteer drivers/chaperones (Cole Presley, Jared Pope, Ashley Menges), Superintendent Merrell noted the individuals "must be approved to drive school vehicles." Clerk Holly McCluskey moved to approve the drivers/chaperones and Member Lunt seconded. Roll call recorded Sweetser Yes, McCluskey Yes, Wagley Abstain, Lunt Yes, Hughes Absent; Motion No.22 (25-26) carried.
