Council approves two malt beverage permits for August events

The Afton Town Council approved two malt beverage permits at its Aug. 12 meeting. Rob Holland requested a permit for a golf tournament at Valli‑Vu Golf Course on Aug. 24, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Council Member Will Wilkes moved to approve and Council Member Scott Griffith seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
Amber Hyde requested a permit for an event at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds; staff and Council Member Michael Butler identified incorrect dates on the request. The correct dates are Aug. 22, 2025 (12 p.m.–8 p.m.) and Aug. 23, 2025 (11 a.m.–4 p.m.). Council Member Griffith moved to approve the permit with corrected dates; Council Member Wilkes seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
