Board accepts two resignations and approves a slate of new hires

The Duncan Unified District Governing Board accepted the resignations of Amanda Lunt (Primary Secretary/Nurse) and Adriana Gates (Special-education one-on-one aide) and approved a slate of new hires at its Aug. 11 meeting.
President Mike Sweetser moved to accept the resignations; the motion passed on a roll call with Members Sweetser, McCluskey, Wagley and Lunt voting Yes and Member Hughes recorded absent (Motion No.16, 25-26). The board then approved hiring multiple staff, including Auranah Crotts (HS SpEd Aide/Janitor), Macayla Sackett (HS SpEd Aide), Brittany Grijalva (3rd grade long-term sub), and several special-education aides and cafeteria workers. Member Wagley moved to approve the listed hires and Member Lunt seconded; Motion No.17 (25-26) carried with the attending members voting Yes.
Superintendent Eldon Merrell told the board "we will probably have a couple more for the next meeting" regarding hires. The transcript does not list salary amounts or individual start dates for the newly approved hires.
