Afton council approves payments and awards contract for Adams Street waterline project

The Afton Town Council approved a first application for payment to Advanced Excavation for $37,145.00 for work on the Adams Street Waterline Replacement Project and separately awarded the overall contract to DNS Excavation for $191,550.00. Dave Kennington presented both items; Council Member Scott Griffith moved to approve the payment and Council Member Will Wilkes moved to award the contract during the Aug. 12 meeting. Both actions passed unanimously.
Kennington told the council two bids were received for the project; DNS Excavation’s $191,550.00 bid was selected as the winning bid. The payment to Advanced Excavation represents the first invoice submitted under the project's payment schedule.
