Donna Gaudet‑Hosmer updated the board on progress establishing a nonprofit to support the Colonial Theatre and said the new entity needs at least five board members; Donna and Jim Rogato confirmed they will serve. Donna described a conversation with Courtney Wrigley of the New Hampshire Charitable Fund, who recommended aligning proposed projects with NHCF mission areas (Early Childhood Education, Environment, Civic Health, Basic Needs and Education) and using donor‑advised funds to attract donors.
Donna said NHCF suggested outreach to the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance because of the theatre’s historic nature and to the New Hampshire Nonprofits Association; she also noted Charitable Gaming as a possible fundraising avenue and said the group needs to finalize board members and identify projects with associated costs before applying for grants. The board agreed to reach out to potential members and to identify candidate projects and their costs for grant applications.
