The Skamania School District board completed a second reading and adopted Policy 2230 (Transition to Kindergarten). Lisa Young moved to adopt the policy as written; Cynthia Dominik Medlin seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The board also approved an exception to Policy 5251, line item “F,” for the 2025–26 school year to cover the Superintendent/Principal and her spouse. Lisa Young moved the exception; Jeremy Silver seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Lisa noted that a future agenda item will request an external evaluator for the superintendent’s evaluation, reflecting the board’s intent to handle evaluation processes outside the regular supervisory chain.
