Superintendent Milt Dennison told the board the district received an application for the vacant board seat on May 20 and recommended a special meeting before the June 18 regular meeting to interview the candidate. If the board chooses to appoint, the Oath of Office would be administered at the July board meeting.
Separately, Dennison noted that Director Cynthia Dominik Medlin plans travel that may affect her ability to attend in person; he said the board may need to update policy to allow remote participation. Board Member Martin “Rowdy” LaFevers emphasized Cynthia’s ties to the community and expressed support for making an exception to retain her contributions.
