Tinmouth to start per-vehicle maintenance logging, schedule regular equipment reviews

The Tinmouth Select Board directed staff to begin tracking maintenance by vehicle and to formalize an equipment-review cadence after members and a member of the public urged systematic recordkeeping.
Rick, who said he previously ran maintenance for a tree company, told the board the town would benefit from a checklist and quarterly maintenance reports so the select board would have a running inventory of what was done and what remains outstanding. "It would be very helpful if that maintenance person came to you on a quarterly basis and said, this is what was supposed to be done in the last 4 months, and this is what didn't get done, and this is what did get done," Rick said.
Board members agreed to add equipment review time to the agenda on a recurring basis (several members recommended every third select board meeting or at least annually) and to create per-truck account numbers so repairs and routine work are charged to the correct vehicle. A member volunteered to convert notebook records into a spreadsheet to preserve long-term continuity for future select boards.
