A Select Board member (Speaker 4) said the draft decision "is to deny the application, giving credence to the town's select board and planning commission saying it doesn't comply with the town plan or the town zoning," and noted the town has 15 days to appeal. The board voted to place an attorney on retainer for the PUC process and accepted a proposed donation to cover the retainer. Speaker 4 described the proposed retainer terms: "They want $10,000 retainer. If they don't use it all, then usually we'll give it back. But we won't give it to them unless we actually have to hire them."
The board approved placing the firm on retainer with the condition that the retainer funds would be used only if hiring became necessary, and instructed staff to finalize paperwork and a letter in support of the PUC decision.
