Officials noted teams from Australia, Puerto Rico, Canada and regions of Latin America, Europe/Africa and Asia Pacific will comprise the international bracket. "This year marks the 43rd Junior League World Series being played in Taylor, making us 1 of the longest running international youth sporting events in the world," one official said.
Organizers asked volunteers to draw ping-pong-style balls to determine byes and matchups; initial draws produced byes for teams identified as Canada and Australia on the international side and for U.S. regions on the domestic side. Officials said the District 5 tournament will be played at Heritage Park and that the district winner earns a USA slot in the JLWS.
