Committee to seek quotes for new town welcome signs using $1,000 community grant

Chair and Rainbow described vendor options (a local shop that absorbed Green Screen and other area signmakers) and several material choices; the chair said, "we're we have 1000 dollar grant to the, to the community fund," and suggested the grant could cover one or two signs depending on price. Members discussed sizes (roughly 3 by 2.5 feet), post styles, and artwork from local artists; Rainbow offered to prepare specifications and a design concept to share with signmakers.
Members identified potential placements on approaches from Wallingford and on the west side (routes 133 and 140). By consensus the committee authorized Rainbow to collect at least one quote from Green Screen/TUDL and to seek one or two additional local quotes before a future decision.
Next steps: Rainbow to solicit quotes, return with cost options and designs, and the committee to decide whether to use the $1,000 grant now or apply for additional funding for more signs.
