The Tinmouth Select Board voted on Oct. 9 to authorize the town to purchase winter road salt from two suppliers to guard against shortages during heavy weather.
The motion was made by the Chair (Speaker 1): "I'll make that motion to authorize Ayr to purchase from both companies," and seconded by Judy (Speaker 3). Members discussed recent supply problems and prices; one member noted Cargill's per-ton price and that Apalachee had offered to coordinate trucking. After brief discussion the board approved purchasing from both vendors so the town would not be caught without salt during a freezing event.
