Levi outlined recent creek cleanup work in the Mill Creek and Pack Creek corridors, the purchase of mulching equipment paid for through a CWDG grant to process large debris, and the placement of flood‑warning signs and seven public sandbag stations (Emma Boulevard, Rotary/former Red Rock property, 100 East/by the Grand Bikes Hills Park, and a public‑works station). "We inspect these regularly and especially after a storm," Levi said.
Council and staff also discussed a grant match letter that would fund a feasibility study for downtown Mill Creek, including the section from Main Street to 5th West and additional creek segments that need design work for future bids and FEMA eligibility. Staff noted outreach by Senator Curtis’s office to help list local resiliency projects on federal funding opportunities; council approved the consent agenda, which included the match letter, on a voice vote.
