Tinmouth postpones enhanced energy plan and other amendments to next year

Officials told the Dec. 1 hearing that the enhanced energy plan (EEP) is not part of the current version being presented; the planning commission intends to add EEP language and other amendments after the new year and to revisit the plan in 2026.
Staff told the hearing the enhanced energy plan (EEP) and other substantive additions were not included in the clean copy of the plan presented for the Select Board’s adoption and would be added through amendment work after the new year. “The EEP—the new EEP energy enhancement plan—is not part of this,” a staff member said, explaining the regional commission did not have time to incorporate some materials before the town-plan deadline.
Officials said they expect to pursue amendments in 2026 to add a comprehensive energy section, scenic resource protection language, riparian/river corridor protections and aging-in-place language raised during meetings. The planning commission and the regional commission will continue to coordinate on the content and state-conformance review; staff said the regional commission must perform a conformity check before final certification.
Residents who raised EEP-related concerns were told the plan can be amended after adoption and that the planning commission will solicit and review suggested language in the coming year.
