Volunteer chiefs warn standardized reporting will be time-consuming; many lack ERP systems

Several volunteer fire chiefs and committee members cautioned that collecting the historic, line-item data requested on the new budget template will be time consuming because many departments have not used computerized accounting systems.
Staff member (S10) and committee members (S3, S8) described paper-based records and recent transitions to new CPA/ERP systems that have delayed data availability. "...to get this information even this coming year, it's gonna be very time consuming, and tedious to gather some of these invoices," said Staff member (S10).
Committee members acknowledged the burden but said even incomplete returns (NA or zeros) provide useful information. The committee directed staff and the eventual coordinator to prioritize training and to avoid duplicative data requests across county processes, and it instructed finance to accept the standard form as prior-year documentation for funding where appropriate.
