Residents press for marked-up comparison as Tinmouth prepares updated town plan

Planning commission members and staff responded that the drafting process stretched back to 2022, that the commission has stacks of printed drafts and meeting videos documenting incremental edits, and that many edits were wordsmithing or data updates tied to state requirements. Commission members said it would be possible for residents to inspect the paper change folder in person but that preparing a single consolidated redline file across multiple years would impose a substantial time and cost burden on volunteer boards.
Commissioners and staff invited residents to review printed change notes and recordings and reiterated that amendments – including the enhanced energy plan and other items – will be pursued after the plan is adopted and in the coming year.
The exchange highlighted a recurring transparency question: residents want a single, easy-to-read comparison between the old and new plans; officials said the record exists but is spread across incremental printed drafts and meeting minutes.
