City clears utility disconnects for Prospect building; demolition to be funded by state land bank grant

City staff told the commission the Prospect building is ready for demolition: railroad and utility disconnects are complete, and the city has issued demo permits and hazardous-material clearances to the contractor. The project is funded through a state land bank grant.
"We received that notification on Monday, and have sent out the demo permits and the clearances for the asbestos and lead to the demo contractor," Eric said. Staff said they expect to receive the contractor's clearances soon and will proceed to underwriting for the project. The presenter said the demolition work and related clearances are being managed under the land bank grant and that proceeds and grants will be tracked through appropriate funds.
Commissioners received the update and no additional action was taken at the meeting.
