Select Board member (speaker 2) proposed revising the select-board assistant job description to transfer agenda preparation, notice posting and minute-taking tasks to a hired assistant. "I would like to pass that on to somebody else," the member said, adding that the reassignment would free the current administrator to continue other duties.
Members discussed likely hours (roughly 5 hours/month suggested as a minimum for meeting preparation and note-taking), whether the position should be in person, and possible hourly pay. The board agreed to advertise the role and to aim for a neutral net cost by reallocating existing funds currently paid to the administrator.
