Planning Commission says enhanced energy plan, scenic protections and historic index will return for amendment

A Planning Commission member told the Select Board that the revised town plan covers the bulk of work the commission began in 2022 but that a number of components will be amended later. "We are planning to revisit all of those other bullet points later on this year and read and readopt them," the presenter said.
Members listed items to be added or refined later: the enhanced energy plan (EEP), scenic resource protection, detailed location mapping, river corridor and stream bank protections, telecommunications updates, and an index for the historic-building map. The presenter also cautioned that statewide or regional decisions — including an unresolved tower issue mentioned during the meeting — could affect whether local work on the EEP ultimately changes outcomes, saying the landscape in Vermont is "changing, like, year to year."
