During the presentation on security requirements, a councilmember asked what establishments must do to connect their external cameras to the city's real-time information center. The response from the city representative: "So in order for the connection from the restaurant cameras for the external cameras to the real time information center, they have to purchase a, box, a fuses box that allows those cameras to talk to our system upstairs."
Councilwoman Mugler suggested adding the camera-connection and similar items to the checklist required before occupancy or permitting to avoid repeat noncompliance. The council and staff discussed rewriting the zoning administrative (zap) permit application to make required items explicit and to capture sign-off prior to opening.
