Commission approves infiltration design at 91 Sunnyside with inspection and log requirements

The Conservation Commission voted July 23 to issue an order of conditions for a proposed addition at 91 Sunnyside after a revised stormwater plan addressed groundwater concerns.
Maureen Herold of North Environmental Services said the design engineer revised the rooftop infiltration to a 5-foot-by-15-foot stone field with a 4-inch perforated pipe and provided hydroCAD calculations. "He revised the plan to show a 5 foot by 15 foot stone field with a 4 inch perforated pipe," Herold said. Commissioners noted the presence of an inspection port on the plan and required an operation-and-maintenance plan that includes twice-yearly inspections for the first three years, gutters and downspout maintenance and a log documenting inspections.
The commission closed the hearing and approved the order of conditions with the special maintenance and survivability conditions discussed during the meeting. Staff and the applicant agreed to add a short, written O&M schedule to the project file to ensure the infiltration area is inspected and documented.
