Brooks County approves budget transfers, rescinds 2022 earnest-money order and sets dispatcher pay

Terri A. Silvas, Chief Deputy Tax Assessor Collector, requested rescinding a February 10, 2022 order regarding a 20% earnest-money deposit after bidders paid 20% to her office and then full payment to Linebarger; the court voted unanimously to rescind that prior motion. Silvas also introduced a proposal to adopt a $1,000 minimum bid for the Brooks County resale list; the court tabled that item.
On budgeted personnel pay, County Auditor Higinio Garcia Jr. presented salary figures for dispatchers (one at $51,055; one at $44,000) and recommended a median; the court approved Option 1 to set dispatcher pay at $44,500 each. These actions were recorded with mover/seconders as noted in the minutes.
