Under the Advertising & Marketing Committee update, Executive Director C. Howard Haas reported the DDA transitioned to a new advertising and marketing company at the beginning of the year and that the change reflected a reported 40% reduction in cost compared with the prior contract. The committee provided a year-to-date social media report for board review.
Haas said HoltNow has been combined with the Holt Food Frenzy website, which allows social media traffic to be directed to a single location; the minutes state the revised marketing strategy has increased subscribers, article views and overall community outreach. The minutes do not provide the name of the new marketing vendor, contract value, or baseline figures that produced the 40% reduction.
