Ms. Tapp said she and her partner have purchased downtown property in the past and offered to work with the city on a plan.
City staff reported that Mr. James Privett (absent) has funds available to move and restore Stonehaven; Sandra Stone said Privett has contractors and materials lined up. Public commenters from Stone Ranch — Larry Heath and Brenda Mallory — expressed support but asked for clarity on timing and whether the land would revert to HOA obligations. Mayor Porter and staff clarified that the site, after relocation, would remain city parkland and maintained by the city, not returned to the HOA. After council members stated preferences, a majority directed staff to pursue discussions first with Mr. Privett and asked that he have a lot under contract within 90 days so staff can report back to the council.
