Board outlines policy-review priorities for 2026–27, hotspots and display rules to be updated

Staff reviewed the board's policy calendar and said the library will prioritize several smaller policies during 2026–27. The "big three" — collection development, meeting room and patron behavior — are not on this year's review list; collection development was completed in 2023 in coordination with the Texas State Library, staff said.
Staff highlighted the display and exhibit policy as already undergoing revision and told the board a hotspot (mobile-hotspot lending) policy will be worked on and presented before the end of the year. Staff invited board participation during reviews and said policies and change logs would be posted on the library website for advance review.
