After wreck, commission approves $186,182 chassis purchase to preserve existing dump bed

Public Works Director Curtis Mader told the Board one of the county's tandem dump trucks was likely totaled after a recent wreck and that the existing dump bed remains in good condition. To save costs, staff recommended buying a new chassis and transferring the existing bed rather than replacing both. Truck Center Companies submitted the low bid at $186,182 for a turnkey chassis and bed installation.
Commissioner Dan Woydziak moved to approve the Truck Center Companies bid in the amount of $186,182; Commissioner Darren Jackson seconded. The motion carried 5-0. Mader said the employee involved in the accident "had a headache over the weekend but is back to work."
