The Boxborough Select Board approved an amendment to the towns Complete Streets policy that shifts the administrative role to the director of land use and establishes an advisory group to support grant applications.
"I would be responsible for preparing that advisory group, routinely, updating it with individuals who have a diversity of methods of travel," Alec, the towns director of land use, said while outlining the proposed responsibilities and outreach plan. He said the revised policy retains the original content but reorganizes section 6 to clarify who prepares reports and how public notice and hearings will operate for future projects.
The amendment also includes language giving the Select Board the option to waive a public hearing for design and engineering funds only, with the expectation that a public hearing would occur later if the project advances to construction funding. The board moved, seconded and approved the amendment by voice vote, 4-0-0.
