The council approved an intergovernmental agreement to extend city-provided courtroom security services to the North District Court through the end of December. Lucas, introduced by the chair as the city chief who oversees officers, said the city had provided temporary coverage for three months and the court requested the city continue through the year; Raymond would serve as backup if needed.
Lucas said "my officers are willing to do it" and reported the temporary arrangement had not posed a burden on his department so far. The chair noted a typographical error in the draft contract about contractor/employee relationship language and said the city would seek clarification with the county before finalizing the signature. The council moved and approved the agreement by voice vote.
