The Boxborough Select Board approved the 2026 state primary warrant for Sept. 1 and voted to authorize early voting hours and necessary election-day staffing adjustments.
"This is voting on the state primary warrant, which is set for September 1," Becky, the town clerk who participated remotely, told the board and described staffing plans and options for mail-in and absentee voters. She said the clerks office had mailed more than 300 ballots and had received nearly 400 requests to date, with another 100 requests arriving the same day.
After brief questions from board members about mailing volumes relative to 2024, the board voted to sign the primary warrant and separately approved the early voting hours and authorization for the clerk to adjust staffing as needed. Both votes passed by voice, 4-0-0. The approved early-voting schedule will operate under the towns reduced-hours arrangement consistent with the towns population allowances under state law.
