Community Development Director Toby Stewart explained that the Rush property (1590 SW Boyer Rd) lies in the City of El Dorado growth area and is zoned Agricultural Residential (A-R). The applicants seek a special use permit so Tillman Infrastructure can lease a 50-by-50-foot pad for a 150-foot monopole designed to provide AT&T service; the design includes a lightning rod extending an additional 10 feet, a 6-foot wooden privacy fence and landscaping around the leased area. Staff told the Board the tower meets setback and fall-distance requirements and that Evergy will provide power with power and fiber running via an underground easement.
After commissioners questioned site specifics and colocation possibilities, Commissioner Darren Jackson moved to approve the construction recommendation and forward it to the City of El Dorado. Commissioner Kelly Herzet seconded; the motion carried 5-0.
