"984 Mass Ave is the site that the town is purchasing for the new site of the fire station. The closing for that acquisition is expected to be this Thursday, July 30," Mike said in his update. The board's motion to accept the deed was made and seconded, and approved by voice vote, 4-0-0. Board members emphasized that if the final deed differs materially from the packet, the board would reconvene to re-vote.
The town attorney prepared the document and the towns counsel had circulated the draft; staff told the board the sellers attorney had approved the deed text and the only remaining step was the sellers signature. The board also discussed holding a short virtual meeting immediately before closing if any last-minute changes emerged.
