The Soap Lake City Council on May 21 unanimously appointed Danielle Taylor to serve the remainder of Councilmember position #1 through November 2025. The motion (M/Bryson, S/Arnold) carried without opposition, and Mayor Peter Sharp administered the Oath of Office to Taylor.
Mayor Sharp also swore in new Soap Lake Police Department Officer Mikel Bias at the meeting. The appointments followed a short interview of Taylor by councilmembers before the vote.
The action leaves Soap Lake with a full complement of council members for the remainder of the current term. No objections to the appointment or the swearing-in of Officer Bias were recorded in the minutes.
