Select board members discussed a draft townwide cybersecurity policy—covering password/account practices, permitted uses, incident reporting, monitoring and training—prepared with input from the town’s IT consultant. Speaker 4 said MMA would provide higher-level insurance if the town adopts a comprehensive cybersecurity policy and told the board the policy would apply townwide across departments.
Separately the board moved to post an RFP for IT services to solicit vendors for workstation/network maintenance, Office 365 and Trio administration, backups, cybersecurity and defined response times; the motion passed 5–0. The chair also reported that multi-factor authentication for the Trio finance package has been implemented for users.
