Butler recommended additional ledge borings and having a town excavator probe off the road to confirm whether ledge will require blasting or removal; he said a local contractor quoted approximately $1,500 for supplemental excavation/borings. Funding discussed included a stream grant, DOT funds, FEMA/MEMA funds, and a municipal capital backstop. Charlie Bader noted construction engineering is included in the existing contract and the FEMA grant is valid for three years; best-case construction timing could be summer 2027, with design delays potentially pushing work into 2028.
