Supervisor reports Madison Street work on schedule; fence damage on Highway 101 sent to insurance

The city's public works supervisor (speaker 8) told the council that the Madison Street project is progressing on task but requires a 15-day extension after a water pipe was found and replaced. "That project on Madison's going well. It's on task. There is an extension of 15 days due to some [water] pipe I had to replace," the supervisor said.
The supervisor also reported barrier/fence damage along Highway 101 caused by a vehicle; insurance has been notified and staff are obtaining contractor cost estimates. He said two abatement/repair contractors have assessed the library-related work and the city is waiting on a second contractor's bid to finalize insurance submission. Council discussed whether outside legal intervention would aid the process; the chair said the insurance process was the appropriate route at present.
