Mayor: UW infill study, HUD contacts and housing resources noted as local concern

Mayor Julie Struck told the council she had received a call from John Anderson, the governor's representative, who offered to be available for questions and concerns affecting the area. She said University of Washington students are conducting an Infill Housing Project whose reports and recommendations will be available at project conclusion.
Struck said local mayors met with HUD representative John Demboski, who described housing resources and that USDA home-improvement grants are available to low-income households. The mayor noted discussions about lack of local land to build homes and referenced Long Beach's suggestion of using grant funding to replace recreational vehicles with tiny homes; "housing is becoming an issue in our area," she said.
