The Clinton County Board of Supervisors on July 13 adopted the county’s Employment Eligibility Verification policy, in response to changes in state law.
The resolution notes that “the Iowa Code 2218 has established new requirements regarding the use of E-Verify,” and records that the Director of Human Resources recommended adoption. The board approved the policy as written and set the effective date as July 1, 2026.
County officials said Human Resources will be responsible for implementing the policy and processing eligibility verification as required under state law. The action was recorded as Resolution 2026-182 and passed by unanimous roll-call vote.
