The Jones County Solid Waste Management Commission approved pay rates for fiscal year 2027 at its July 7 meeting. Jeff Swisher moved to adopt the FY2027 wage schedule, which was seconded by John Schlarmann and approved unanimously. The rates, effective July 1, 2026, list Andy Jamison, Director/Operations Manager, at $29.50 per hour; Ray Hendley, Full-time Operator, at $22.00 per hour; Tami Michaud, Part-time Scale Operator, at $18.00 per hour; and David Haugsted, On-call Operator, at $20.00 per hour. Commission Chair Russ Benke’s stipend was listed at $230.00 per month.
Earlier in the meeting John Schlarmann moved specifically to increase the On-call Operator rate from $19 to $20 per hour for David Haugsted; that motion was seconded by Dave Goedken and carried unanimously. Commissioners did not attach conditions or phased increases to the adopted wage schedule during the meeting.
