Police report fentanyl seizure; council approves surplussing inoperable patrol SUV

Police Chief Siegel told the council that a recent task-force arrest over the holiday weekend yielded about 0.5 pound of fentanyl powder the chief said had been coming through the Seattle–Tacoma area. "It comes here, and our guys are working to help combat that," Chief Siegel said.
Chief Siegel also asked permission to surplus a 2015 Ford Explorer that has been mostly inoperable for several years and needs transmission and running repairs. The chief said repair costs would likely exceed the vehicle's value: "It's gonna be too costly to repair." The council moved, seconded and approved surplusing the vehicle by voice vote.
