Public Works Director Olson informed the council that, at an emergency meeting on July 7, council members approved purchasing a demo model for the wastewater-treatment-plant press, which Olson said produced a savings of over $340,000. Olson also reported ongoing public-works work including sidewalk repairs, weed mitigation, restroom cleaning, Main Street irrigation fixes and roof repairs at the Senior Center.
The purchase was presented as a cost-saving measure; Olson thanked councilmembers for their support at the July 7 emergency meeting. The council did not take additional action on this item at the July 16 meeting beyond receiving the report.
