The Pomona Unified School District Board of Education on July 31 approved a tentative agreement with California School Employees Association (CSEA) Chapter 14, voting 5–0 after a brief public hearing that drew no public comments.
Board member Jimenez moved to approve the agreement. President Nashua called the roll for the vote; Nashua, Vice President Pearlman, Gonzales, Jimenez and Tai each recorded a "yes." The presiding officer announced, "Motion passes," and the board closed the public hearing on the item.
The public hearing was opened by President Nashua and staff reported no public comments were received. The agreement was presented as a negotiated, tentative settlement between CSEA Chapter 14 and Pomona Unified; board materials and comments at the meeting identified district negotiators including Assistant Superintendent Sylvia San Martin and district counsel Villegas.
Superintendent Knowles and board members offered brief remarks thanking bargaining teams and staff for their work. The board scheduled its next regular meeting for August 19 at 6:30 p.m.
