Montoursville Borough Council approved two facility and equipment purchases at the Feb. 2 meeting. The council approved purchasing a Kubota lawn mower at the budgeted price of $19,342.72 so crews can perform borough mowing in-house; Borough Manager Donna Taggart and Council Member Donald Konkle said expected labor and lifecycle savings justify the purchase.
Council also approved contracting Anchor Air Systems LLC to replace the borough building heating system for $22,977.00 after Taggart said Anchor Air quickly diagnosed a failed motherboard and restored heat in the borough building and police areas. Taggart said the purchase will be funded from transfers into the Capital Fund rather than the operating budget.
