Council weighs phased approach for 7375 South/925 East street, water and storm‑drain work

Council members and the mayor emphasized pedestrian safety near South Weber Elementary School as a priority. Councilman Halverson noted the Public Works Department’s temporary gravel path and suggested improving it; Councilman Winsor said it made sense to do all work at once but staff are not recommending the full project now due to funding constraints. The council gave direction to improve the gravel trail as a temporary fix while deferring full construction pending funding, and Finance Director Brett Baltazar will continue to assess budget options.
