The Board voted to recommend that the town council amend the BAR bylaws to change the regular meeting start time from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Staff explained that the bylaws currently state 7:00 p.m., and the proposed amendment (in the packet on page 33) would align the bylaws with long-standing practice of meeting at 7:30 p.m. Vice Chair Beth Goldsmith moved that the board recommend the amendment to council; Mark Capoletti seconded the motion and the board approved it by voice vote.
Staff said that if council approval is delayed the board could, as it had previously, treat a session as a special meeting to shift the start time by 30 minutes in the interim, but the formal bylaw change must go to council. The staff packet and motion language will be transmitted to council for formal consideration.
