The commission voted to approve CUP202610, allowing a center‑based daycare to operate at 3050 Old Anson Road within existing multifamily zoning. Planner Adam Holland explained the structure previously housed childcare but lost nonconforming status after vacancy; staff recommended approval subject to the plan of operation.
Applicant Mark Hobscheid, one of the property owners, said the owners purchased the complex to return the childcare use to service and are prepared to market the space to a qualified operator. "So we are we own 2 apartment complexes in town and, our plan is to once we get our conditional use permit, market it to find a quality operator for the property," Hobscheid said. Commissioners accepted the plan of operation as a condition and approved the permit by voice vote.
