Owner Ignacio Padilla said he did not want demolition and that he was pursuing loans and contractor help, saying, "I don't wanna demolish the house. I wanna fix it." Padilla asked for at least 60 days to clear the interior and another 30 days to begin repairs; the board nonetheless voted unanimously to find the property a public nuisance and ordered demolition or an appeal to district court within 30 days.
