Wright told the board staff "recommendation is to find that the property is a public nuisance and that it is a hazard to the public health, safety, and welfare, and repair of the structure would be unreasonable."
Owner Jeremy Ford told the board he submitted estimates and a plan of action on short notice and said he had paid contractors to make repairs. Ford said, "the goalpost keeps getting moved back," arguing he had turned in the paperwork and bills. He acknowledged some work had been done but disputed staff characterization that the plan was incomplete. After board discussion, Member Allred moved to accept the staff recommendation; Member Turner seconded. The board voted unanimously to order the owner to demolish or appeal to district court within 30 days, otherwise the city may demolish the property.
