The Purcellville Planning Commission voted Thursday to extend the appointments of its current officers, keeping Ronald Reis as chair and Brian Green as vice chair through the commission’s 2nd regular meeting on March 20, 2025.
Commissioner Hombach moved the measure after Chair Reis read Article 3 of the commission bylaws and explained the need to align officer elections with the bylaws amended July 9, 2024. "I, Commissioner Hombach, motion to extend the appointed members, Ronald Reis as chair and Brian Green as vice chair... to the 2nd regular meeting on 03/20/2025," Hombach said during the meeting.
The motion received a second, brief discussion and a roll-call vote; the motion was recorded as passing 6–0. Chair Reis said he and Vice Chair Green would abstain from the vote before the roll call, but the official recorded tally shows six votes in favor and the motion recorded as passing. The commission said the extension aligns officer terms with the timing set out in the amended bylaws.
The action imposes no other changes to the commission’s duties and will be on the record for the March 20 meeting when officers are expected to be elected under the revised schedule.
