Residents used the public-comment slot to press the council on an array of local concerns. Tammy Fogel, who said she attends meetings to increase citizen engagement, criticized limited public disclosure around major projects and asked for earlier staff presentations so the public can be informed. “If you don’t follow that approved narrative, you’re labeled as critical or divisive,” Fogel said, arguing for broader transparency in decision-making. In a separate comment, Jaden told the council they should fix park sidewalks after a scooter crash that fractured his elbow: “I broke my arm,” the child said, urging repairs to prevent future injuries. Cynthia Alvidrez asked the council to put youth safety at the forefront following a local fatality and appealed for collective action to protect young people.
