Closing on 984 Mass Ave delayed; Select Board to accept deed Monday

The Boxborough Fire Station Building Committee heard an update on the town's planned purchase of 984 Mass Ave, with the committee told the closing did not occur last Friday but remains on track. "We expect the closing to happen in the next couple of weeks, but we don't have a a new date for it," a committee member said, noting the seller's attorney is finalizing several documents and the final ALTA survey is complete.
The committee was told the Select Board will take up an item Monday to accept the deed if the seller signs, and that money for the acquisition is lined up. Committee members asked for continued updates; no red flags were reported and staff said the delay was procedural rather than substantive.
